We are excited to announce the transition from our winter schedule to the summer schedule, bringing with it longer days and more opportunities to play! We’ve outlined the key changes and dates for the upcoming summer season, which is effective from October 1st, 2025 to 31st March 2026.Court Availability for SummerThere are some important changes to note regarding the use of our available court times.Monday – Saturday 6am to 8pm – Courts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Sunday 8am to 12pm – Courts 4 and 5 12pm to 8pm – Courts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5Public holidays, school holidays or the absence of Coogee Nippers, does not change our licensed court time. Please do no start setting up nets before 6am. It’s in breach of our license condition, and draws the attention of rangers from Randwick Council. These can be found here: Court InfoThe busiest months at CoogeeThe summer months can be incredibly busy at Coogee, particularly on weekends. There will be occasions where members of the public are sitting in our licensed court space or very close to it. In these situations, please politely ask that they move to another nearby part of the beach so you can set up and for their own safety. Asking is no guarantee they will move, and you need to accept that some people will not move. In that case, please try to share courts that have already been established or wait for the beach to clear a bit. There may also be other groups of people who set up their own nets for volleyball or other beach sports on our space. The same principle applies. Politely ask them to move to another area of the beach. It can be confronting to approach large groups of people. Please do not escalate the situation if you receive an unfavourable response to your request. We rely on the cool heads of our community members to make good decisions in the interests of everyone at the beach. The lifeguards at the south end of the beach are aware of our lease agreement with Randwick Council, and can be called to provide support if required. Finally, the increased training and play time means heavier usage and wear on our equipment. Please treat it with care and let Jesse or Paul know if something needs to be attended to.New coaches and adult training schedule changesWe’re pleased to announce Fernando Goulart da Silva and Peter Horniak have accepted coaching roles.Fernando has recently moved to Sydney from Brazil, and has over 10 years of coaching experience in indoor and beach volleyball. He has recently been coaching indoor in Sydney, and is excited to get sand in his toes at Coogee.Peter is a long time member of CBVA and is a regular on our courts. With a background in physical education and volleyball, we’re excited to see Peter share his knowledge of the game, enthusiasm and energy at training. You can read an extended bio of theirs on our Coaches page.Regarding Adult training classes – we have added more classes (particularly in the afternoons) to our weekly schedule, as well as opening a Men’s A session in place of a MAA squad. The schedule is not quite finalised as we’ve been busy preparing Adult Squads and Junior schedules for summer. We will likely make further changes to it in the near future once all of our coaches settle into a schedule and we’ve had more time to digest the recent survey results.See you on the beach!
