Communication

CBVA coaches are expected to:

  • Inform CBVA administrators when a class needs to be cancelled.
  • Use social media consciously, in alignment with CBVA’s purpose and values.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication between players / athletes and other relevant stakeholders.

CBVA coaches are encouraged to:

  • Participate in opportunities to give and receive constructive feedback to players / athletes, as well as to other coaches and administrators.

Conflicts of interest

CBVA coaches are expected to:

  • Submit an annual declaration of any actual or potential conflicts of interest; and
  • Notify CBVA of any significant changes to circumstances that would lead to an actual or potential conflict of interest.

To help clarify what may or may not constitute a conflict of interest with respect to employment, some examples have been provided as guidance below:

  • Seeking employment with an immediate ‘competitor’ of CBVA. CBVA is a non-commercial, not-for-profit entity, community sports Club, so we do not have competitor organisations in the commercial sense. The only ‘competition’ that may present as a conflict, is for the time and effort of a Coach, and their ability to fulfill their scheduled coaching commitments.
  • Existing employment arrangements with organisations that are not ‘competitors’ of CBVA is typically not viewed as a conflict of interest. As above, the primary ‘conflict’ that may exist would be for a coach’s time and effort in fulfilling their scheduled coaching commitments.

Diversity and Inclusion

CBVA coaches are expected to:

  • Advocate for diversity and inclusion, and providing equal opportunities for all players to participate in training sessions, regardless of background.

Privacy and Confidentiality

CBVA coaches are expected to:

  • Maintain confidentiality in relation to personally identifiable information about players, their emergency contacts.
  • Handle all personal and medical information in compliance with relevant privacy laws.

Payment of coaches

CBVA coaches are expected to:

  • Onboard themselves to Payroller before their contracted start date.
  • Submit timesheets in the week following a two-week coaching block to treasurer @ cbva.org.au.
  • If coaches are unable to submit their own timesheets, they should seek assistance from their Training Coordinator to submit timesheets on their behalf.

CBVA is expected to:

  • Pay coaches wages once every two weeks.
  • Pay coaches superannuation once every two weeks.
