CBVA Summer Squads 2025/26

We are taking expressions of interest for Summer Adult Squads for the 2025/26 season. The purpose of these Adult Squads is to offer structured training, and is aimed at players looking to represent CBVA at State and National level tournaments throughout the season.

Martin A will be taking the men and women’s AAA squads. We’re pleased to announced our new coach, Fernando G, will be taking the AA squads. Fernando holds a physical education degree and certifications from Brazilian and Australian volleyball federations, and has over ten years of indoor and beach volleyball coaching experience. Martin will be on leave for 3 weeks in early October, and during this time, Fernando will be covering both AAA and AA sessions.

Program details:

  • Men & Women with AA & AAA squads
  • Maximum 6 participants per squad
  • The program will involve 2 facilitated sessions per week to be delivered across 2 terms:
    • Term 1 – October 6th 2025 to December 19th (11 weeks)
    • Term 2 – January 12th 2026 to April 10th 2026 (13 weeks)
  • We may revise the composition of the squads between each term.
  • The cost will be $30 per session.
  • Payment is expected in full and upfront for each term. No refunds will be offered for change of mind or your personal unavailability.
  • Classes will not be rescheduled if the class needs to be cancelled by the coach or CBVA (due to bad weather or other circumstances).
    • Refunds will be offered for these classes that do not go ahead at the end of the program.

Scheduling details:

2 hours will be blocked out in our calendar, with sessions expected to run for approx. 1.5 hours, with 15min on either side for equipment set up / pack down, warming up / down.

  • Men AAA – Monday & Thursday – 6:15-8:15am
  • Men AA – Monday 5:30-7:30pm & Wednesday 6:15-8:15am
  • Women AAA – Tuesday 6:15-8:15am & Thursday 5:30-7:30pm
  • Women AA – Tuesday & Wednesday 5:30-7:30pm

Selection details:

Trial sessions will be held on Tuesday, September 30th for men (at 6:15am) and women (at 7:15 am). If you’re unable to attend, please leave a note in the EOI form below.

Factors that will influence selection include:

  • Skill level demonstrated during the trial as assessed by the coaches.
  • Commitment shown to previous squad training (if applicable).
  • Tournament participation and performance.

Secondary criteria in the event of needing to choose between players of similar skill levels:

  • Consistently demonstrates CBVA’s values.
  • Contributes to the club culture in a positive way.
