It’s with great pleasure and excitement that we’re announcing that 2 sets of permanent posts have been installed at Coogee Beach.
Permanent posts will greatly improve the infrastructure of the club and the sport. Not only it provides simple and quick installation of the nets, but also stability, durability and most importantly safety for the players.
The courts with permanent posts will be the central courts (1 and 2).
We are not allowed to leave nets and lines overnight. Our current rule applies, the last players have to carry the net back to the trailer if there are no other players waiting to play.
No coaching is allowed at our permanent posts. Coaching will take place using portable courts (court 3, 4 or 5).
This is a great team effort, big thanks goes to Hernan for the coordination of the activities, submitting the proposal and lobbing the Council / SVNSW for support, Councilor Brendan Roberts for breaking the opposition of the Council officers to our request, Nam Pham (SVNSW Operations Manager) for the letter of support, Flora, Tony and Peppi for the help with the proposal and meetings also Tom Giese for supplying the posts.
